Town Hall Meeting scheduled for 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 5, at the Lowman Emergency Services Building.

Late evening and early morning drift smoke low in the South Fork Payette drainage in the vicinity of Eightmile Creek could be hazardous to Highway 21 traffic, caution is advised. The Real Time Smoke Monitor installed by DEQ [on private property at the instigation of the private property owner, not the BNF] continues to monitor one hour running averages and mid-24 hour averages.

Today, a Type 1 Hotshot crew from Idaho City was flown to the ridge between Eightmile Creek and the East Fork of Eightmile Creek. Wednesday, the crew will begin to establish an anchor point and construct handline off of Eightmile Creek to secure the southern perimeter. Two Type 2 Initial Attack crews from Utah arrived and plans are for them to build handline up the east flank, working along the ridge line between Eightmile Creek and the East Fork of Eightmile Creek. Helicopter water bucket drops were made to successfully check the fire on the southern perimeter and on ridge line between Eightmile and the East Fork of Eightmile Creek. For the first time in a few days, a helicopter was available to GPS the fire. The fire was mapped at 922 acres as of 5 P.M., August 4. A helicopter and crew has been assigned to the incident for overall logistical support.

A Type 2 short team has been ordered, and will transition with the local Type 3 team on Thursday.

The fire began on the west side of the Eightmile Creek drainage and has been burning in a west and southwest direction. It spotted across Eightmile Creek to the east and is now burning near the ridge line between Eightmile Creek and the East Fork of Eightmile Creek.

Late on the evening of Monday, August 3, management action taken to help contain the fire in the main Eightmile Creek drainage included retardant drops from small fixed wing aircraft. This action was successful in checking the fire. The incident meteorologist is closely monitoring the predicted weather.

A Type 3 Incident Management Team has been assigned to this incident to help provide for consistent management and to develop a Long Term Implementation Plan (LTIP). The LTIP is being developed because the Forest recognizes this incident will need management until a season ending event occurs later in the fire season. The LTIP will address the anticipated fluctuations in growth.

Fire has now crested ridge and is in East Fork Eightmile Creek drainage.

Boise NF and InciWeb persist in reporting this fire as, “In old 1989 Lowman Burn area.” That is not a factual statement.

Notice of Government Falsehood and Community Endangerment

We reported that this fire was within the Lowman Burn (1989) because the Boise NF issued a press release stating that. However, that was a Big Lie. The Eightmile Fire is E of the Lowman Burn, has always been E of the Lowman Burn, and is heading E toward the community of Eightmile.

The individual responsible for both the Big Lie and the endangerment of communities is Cecilia Seesholtz, Boise Forest Supervisor.

Cecilia Seesholtz may be contacted at 1249 S. Vinnell Way, Suite 200, Boise, ID 83709, (208) 373-4100. You may wish to ask her why she spouts Big Lies and why the Boise NF does not produce updates on this fire.

Return fire within the Lowman Burn (1989). Designated incineration zone is one-fourth of the Boise NF. Brush, snags, never rehabilitated. Fire expected to burn until October. Large growth, potential blow-up expected. Megafire potential with serious post-fire erosion — which the Boise NF considers to be “resource benefits.”

*foofurb: euphemism for “fire used for resource benefit.” However, as is usual with foofurbs, no benefits have been elucidated, no EIS created, no NEPA process undertaken or envisioned.
