The Bridge Fire was allowed to burn unimpeded for a month. Then it blew up on 7/14. Whatever “resource benefits” were gained, they have been overwhelmed by costs and damages from a runaway wildfire.
Bryce Canyon N.P. closure of park service road 63 begins one mile after the main park entrance.
Direct suppression of south flank below the rim of Bryce Canyon, and continuing holding at the Whiteman Bench Road on the north flank. Air attack, 3 helos, 5 crews, 3 eng assigned; additional orders being filled.
No listing of this fire on InciWeb.
*foofurb: euphemism for “fire used for resource benefit.” However, as is usual with foofurbs, no benefits have been elucidated, no EIS created, no public involvement or hearings held.
