Firefighters continue reinforcing retardant lines, constructing hand lines and tying in with existing roads to utilize as containment lines. Firefighters are working to contain several spot fires, including a 25 acre spot between Forest Roads 11 and 100.

The fire was reported at ~1:15 AM and is burning on the E flank of Black Butte. At this time the acreage is a rough estimate. The Black Butte fire lookout tower has been evacuated. Indian Ford Campground is not currently threatened, however it is being evacuated for public safety.

Black Butte Ranch Resort is ~1.5 miles to the S and no structures are currently threatened. Forest Roads 11, 1120 and 1430 are being closed for fire suppression efforts. Signs are posted on Road 64 and 1170. Resources ordered include 4 air tankers, 6 twenty-person hand crews, 4 helicopters, 1 dozer, 3 water tenders and 5 engines.
